History of Margareth Colour's & Charm's
Born in Angola and left the country at the age of three due to war.
My mother was forced to leave Angola with five young children in search of safety.
We travelled to Portugal as refugees, carrying only hope for a better future.
During this period, life was uncertain as we moved through different places before finding a home.
Our living conditions were very simple:
No electricity.
Limited access to water.
Our family later grew to ten children after my mother remarried a generous and loving man who became my stepfather.
Although we lived with limited material resources, our home was filled with love, unity, and emotional richness.
I faced difficulties from an early age.
After completing fourth grade, I had to leave school to help support family expenses.
Worked in various jobs including cleaning and agricultural work.
Experienced discrimination because of my dark skin and humble social background.
These experiences often made me feel that I was not good enough or worthy of dreaming big.
At seventeen, art became my emotional escape and sanctuary.
Began working with artistic artifacts and painting miniature plaster houses.
Every brushstroke became a personal expression of my inner world.
Even while working in hard labour jobs such as cleaning and farming, art reminded me that I was more than my circumstances.
Art was my strength and my hope for a better future.
For many years, I lived without legal registration.
Not having identity documents made me invisible in society.
I had no access to basic services and professional opportunities.
Despite these hardships, the flame of creativity inside me never disappeared.
In 1998, I obtained a foreign citizen identity card.
This moment felt like a new opening to life and opportunity.
I immediately worked to recover lost time and rebuild my future.
Achievements during this period included:
Opening a bank account.
Registering at the employment centre.
Obtaining a driving license.
This period felt like a golden opportunity to restart my life.
Took a decorative painting and restoration course.
Expanded artistic knowledge and technical skills.
Discovered a strong passion for:
Tile painting.
Gold painting and gilding work.
Worked with my trainer on a prestigious artistic project.
Created a theatre scenery scenario using gold leaf.
The project was performed at the famous Teatro São José in Lisbon.
This experience marked an important professional achievement in my artistic career.
My identity card was no longer legally valid under new regulations.
I needed a residence permit to continue professional activities in my own name.
This represented another major life challenge.
Became a mother of five children.
Dedicated time to raising and caring for my children.
Worked in cleaning jobs whenever possible to support my family.
Lost my job following the death of my employer.
Went through the end of a very difficult marriage.
Faced the challenge of raising five children without valid employment documentation.
Needed to find a way to survive and provide for my family.
Took a leap of faith and started my own small business where I lived.
Created the artistic project named “Cascata de Tons”, in honour of my eldest daughter.
This became a refuge for my creativity and a space where my paintings could generate income.
Developed interior decoration painting services.
Worked on exterior mural painting projects.
Demonstrated versatility and adaptation to different artistic environments.
One of my most important achievements was painting a mural:
4 meters high.
20 meters wide.
This mural remains a symbol of my dedication, passion, and artistic legacy.
Obtained Portuguese citizenship after many years of struggle.
This symbolized recognition, legitimacy, and freedom.
Later decided to migrate to England in search of new opportunities.
Living far from family and friends became emotionally challenging.
Despite distance, I carried my art with me as a life companion.
Continued learning new artistic techniques and improving professional qualifications.
Focused on opening new doors as an international artist.
My passion for painting remains strong and constant.
I continue challenging myself creatively.
My commitment is to deliver excellent artistic work.
With every brushstroke:
I express resilience.
I share hope.
I transform life experiences into visual emotion.
Each artwork is personal and carries my essence, experiences, and love.
My goal is to share meaningful and authentic pieces with those who own my artwork.
I hope my paintings create emotional and spiritual connection with viewers.

It represents gratitude for life, survival, and artistic journey.
Every creation is a story told through colour, texture, and heart.
